Who am I?

My name is Alexandria (Alex for short) Blose and I am from Indiana, PA. Indiana is home to Indiana University of Pennsylvania, which just happens to be the college I attend. I am an aspiring teacher, on my way to earning a degree in middle level mathematics. Being a middle level teacher means teaching grades 4-8. Some may think I’m crazy for wanting to teach this age group.. and in a way, I probably am! But I’m really looking forward to getting out there, having my own classroom and students, and teaching them everything I know. (:

A little background…

I’ve lived in Indiana all my life. If you would come and visit the town, you would probably think I’m crazy after just spending a few days here. There’s not much to do, but hey, I’ve dealt with it for how long now, so why change, right? I have a younger brother named Nathan who will soon be attending Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. I live with my boyfriend, Kyle, who I have been with for the past four years. We live in an apartment with our two crazy cats, Boots and Sidney, and our dog, Lulu. My best friend, Michelle, has been my best friend since 1st grade. Kind of hard to believe, huh?

In my spare time (what little I have!)

Being a college student, I don’t have a whole lot of time. But when I do get time, one thing I really enjoy is drawing and painting. I love a particular type of painting called palette knife painting (click on the link for a bit of information about it if you don’t know what it is!). Here’s a little sample of my work that I’ve done in the past:

Sports are a pretty big thing where I’m from.. being that I’m just an hour out of Pittsburgh. I bet you can guess which teams I like! The Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates have always been the ones I root for, no matter if they’re winning or losing.

My favorite place to go on vacation is the beach. In particular, I really love the Outer Banks in NC. It’s more of a “family” beach, which seems to make it so much more relaxing. The one thing I am sure to always do when I am there is go parasailing.. it’s so much fun! I also enjoy going sight seeing there, especially to all of the light houses.

I love being around my family and friends. They are all very important to me and I always make sure to take time out of my busy schedule to get some quality time in with everyone.

I’m a very organized person, I can’t stand when things are out-of-place! I am shy at first, but once you get to know me I tend to not want to ever shut up. I’m really a laid-back person, just going with the flow. I don’t really lead too much of an exciting life, but it’s just right for me, and I love it just the way it is.
